Tasting Notes: The 2025 Rhinory Trebbiano from Newsom Vineyards is a vibrant expression of freshness layered with intriguing aromatic complexity. The nose opens with the distinctive fragrance of purple basil and a hint of Margherita lime salt, lending a savory, citrus-kissed character that immediately captures attention. As the wine unfolds, notes of ripe guava emerge, adding a subtle tropical dimension that complements the variety’s naturally bright profile.
On the palate, crisp Granny Smith apple drives the wine’s energetic core, supported by lively citrus tones and a pronounced mineral streak that carries through the finish. Delicate touches of star anise weave throughout, contributing a subtle spice note that adds depth without overshadowing the wine’s refreshing nature. The result is a beautifully balanced Trebbiano that is both lively and nuanced, offering remarkable freshness alongside layers of savory, fruit-driven complexity.

Sitting at an elevation of 3600 feet, the landscape is mostly flat, with a slight tilt to the north. Trebbiano is a white wine grape native to Italy, named after the Trebbia River in Emilia-Romagna. In addition to being used throughout the world to make wine, it is also used in brandy production, such as Cognac and Armagnac.
