Wine Rooted in Conservation

Our Story

World-Class Wine. Real-World Impact.

Rhinory was born out of a profoundly life-changing experience during a 2016 safari in South Africa. After witnessing the heartbreaking aftermath of a local rhino poaching incident, founders Craig Stevens and Chesney Castleberry knew they had to act. What began as a mission to create a secure “reserve population” of rhinos in Texas quickly evolved into an innovative concept. To generate the immense resources and land needed to protect these animals, they combined their dedication to global conservation with a passion for exceptional wine. Today, Rhinory is the result of that vision, a sanctuary where world-class winemaking and wildlife preservation meet.

Came here for the rhino, but stayed for the wine. So far this place has the best portfolio of wines we have had in the area, and it is a really good winery with a heart for rhino conservation.

Rhino, fun fact

A rhino’s horn is made of keratin, the very same protein as your own fingernails.
