Tasting Note: The 2025 Texas Viognier opens with an exuberant and highly expressive nose, immediately showcasing the variety’s aromatic potential in the Texas High Plains. Fragrant notes of wild jasmine and hibiscus lead, unfolding into vibrant layers of pineapple and a refreshing hint of coconut water that lend a bright, tropical lift.

On the palate, this vintage is defined by its heightened acidity, bringing a sense of precision and energy to the wine. Fresh citrus and orchard fruit tones glide across the palate, supported by a clean, mineral-driven backbone. The stainless steel aging preserves purity and clarity, allowing the floral and fruit elements to remain vivid and well-defined.

The finish is crisp and refreshing, with lingering impressions of white blossoms and subtle tropical fruit. This Viognier offers a more focused and lifted expression of Texas terroir—elegant, aromatic, and beautifully balanced.

More Information: Sourced from Lahey Vineyards in the Texas High Plains, this wine showcases the purity and vibrancy that define some of Texas’s most compelling whites. Crafted to preserve freshness and expression, a slow, cool fermentation enhances its aromatic lift while maintaining a crisp, refreshing profile. The Region

Texas High Plains
Texas
United States

A vast AVA across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains around Lubbock, established in 1993 and covering more than 8 million acres on the flat, elevated Llano Estacado. Most vineyards sit at 3,000–4,000 feet, where intense sunshine, low humidity, sandy soils, and cool nights create ideal grape-growing conditions. This is the workhorse of Texas viticulture, supplying an estimated 80 percent of the state’s wine grapes — standout Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, and Roussanne. Most Hill Country wineries, including many around Fredericksburg, source a large share of their fruit here.
