More Information: The 2024 Crash Collection South Africa Chardonnay is crafted by acclaimed Stellenbosch winemaker David Finlayson from fruit sourced across six carefully selected vineyard blocks. Grapes were hand-harvested at varying levels of ripeness to build complexity before being barrel fermented in French oak, using a combination of cultured and natural yeasts. A portion of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, adding depth and texture while preserving the vibrant freshness of the fruit. The wine matured for ten months in French oak barrels and concrete eggs, allowing the flavors to integrate into a balanced, elegant Chardonnay that reflects both thoughtful vineyard selection and meticulous winemaking.

The Region

Stellenbosch
Western Cape
South Africa

South Africa’s most celebrated wine district, about 45 km east of Cape Town, spread across mountain foothills and valleys with granite-rich, ancient, well-draining soils and eight distinct wards. High sunshine, moderating sea and mountain influences, and varied terroir make it the country’s benchmark for structured, cellar-worthy reds. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most-planted grape and its calling card — in varietal and Bordeaux-blend form — alongside Merlot, Syrah, Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay.
