More Information: Newsom Vineyard encompasses one hundred acres in Hockley County, just west of Lubbock. Sitting at an elevation of 3600 feet, the landscape is mostly flat, with a slight tilt to the north. Trebbiano is a white wine grape native to Italy, named after the Trebbia River in Emilia-Romagna. The varietal is also widely planted in France, where it is known as Ugni Blanc. In addition to being used throughout the world to make wine, it is also used in brandy production, such as Cognac and Armagnac.
